DINING

Take a pic of what you try – this could be any vegan dish, product or cosmetics, and add your own review. Each review can raise up to $1 for donation to animal sanctuaries through the app! I have donated over $450 so far, by simply writing a quick review.

HappyCow is a popular app for finding veggie friendly restaurants in over 180 countries worldwide. Personally, we use Abillion and Google Maps more often on travels, but if you have the Happy Cow app, it’s a useful vegan resource as well.

Fussy Traveller Club Playing Cards – Don’t want to be stuck with just French fries or lettuce at a non-vegan restaurant on travels? Not sure about communicating what’s vegan in a foreign language? ACCOMMODATION

  • Veggie Hotels – a website through which you can find and book veggie friendly accommodation around the world. There are so many amazing hotels listed here!
    • Vegan Welcome – a portal by Veggie Hotels, which collects a list of especially vegan hotels, bed & breakfasts and retreats. You can search by country and find a hotel worldwide.
  • VegVisits is like Airbnb for vegans and vegetarians. Book unique accommodations from locals in 80+ countries worldwide. We haven’t used the service yet but plan to in future.
  • EcoBnb – we found one of our favourite stays via Ecobnb. Since we don’t use Airbnb due to their high fees, this is a great find! All properties listed take steps to be more eco-friendly. The only drawback is that there are very few properties listed here.

TRAVEL PLANNING

  • Booking.com – we mainly use Booking.com to reserve hotels around the world! It’s a great, reliable resource to find plenty of hotels or apartments worldwide. Make sure to also sign up / create an account to get Genius discounts for future stays. Book your next stay through links on our pages!
  • SkyScanner – useful for finding the best flight route and flight combinations for travels! I always check flights on SkyScanner for planning our journey and then book the tickets directly from the airline’s booking system.
  • GetYourGuide – a leading travel platform for booking tours, guided sightseeing and adventure activities at a destination. Search their online marketplace and find one to suit you!
  • Travel insurance is always a good idea: check if you have a general one that covers travel medical costs. If not, you can purchase one for the duration of your journey. WorldTrips Atlas, is an affordable insurance and covers most damages/health emergencies. A single-trip Travel Medical plan, is available to U.S. and non-U.S. citizens travelling outside their home country.
  • SafetyWinga global safety net for digital nomads, entrepreneurs and remote workers – is a reliable and top-rated global travel insurance company, made for nomads but also regular travellers (choose specific travel dates). Insurance can also be purchased after beginning a journey. Find and purchase your plan:
